Terms & Conditions

When you make a booking, you are entering into an agreement with us and confirming that you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. Please read these before making a booking, to ensure you are able and happy to comply with them.

Our prices

The prices shown on this website are per room per night, based on the occupancy stated, including breakfast.

Bookings and payment

Bookings can be made online, by email or by phone. Full payment is required at the time of booking and is refundable only according to the cancellation conditions below.

Before booking, please ensure you have checked for any Scottish Government travel restrictions that are currently in place. It is your responsibility to make sure that travel to Scotland from your home country/current location is allowed for the dates you intend to stay. Please note that our normal cancellation terms below will apply if you subsequently have to cancel due to such travel restrictions being in place at the time of booking.

Please also be aware that we cannot accept anyone who needs to quarantine following arrival in Scotland from another country.


Cancellation by you

As a small business, cancellations have a big impact on us. If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible so we can try to re-let the room. If we are able to do so, we will refund the full cost of the booking, minus £20.00 to cover admin/payment handling costs.

However, if we are unable to re-let the room, please be aware that the following will apply:

  • Cancellation within 14 days of arrival date – The full cost of the booking will be retained by us.
  • Cancellation 14 days or more before arrival date – 50% of the booking cost will be retained by us.
  • Non-arrival – In all cases, the full cost of the booking will be retained by us.

We strongly advise you to take out suitable insurance to cover you for cancellation and other unforeseen events.

Cancellation by us

If we need to cancel your booking, we will let you know immediately. If acceptable to you, we will do our best to find you similar accommodation locally. However, if we are unable to do so, or you do not want to accept the alternative accommodation, we will refund the booking cost in full. Our liability will not extend beyond this condition.

Please note: If, after booking, restrictions on travel and/or hospitality are re-introduced by the UK and/or Scottish Government due to COVID-19, and this means you or we are obliged to cancel your booking, any payment made will be refunded in full (minus a small charge to cover payment handling costs). Cancellation for any other reason, including not checking the latest government guidelines before booking (see above), will be subject to normal cancellation terms. We strongly advise you to take out travel insurance.

Arrival and departure

Our check-in time is between 4pm and 7pm and it would be helpful if you could let us know your estimated time of arrival in advance. If you are unable to arrive within these hours, please call us so we can make any necessary arrangements.

Please check-out by 10am on your day of departure.

Car/motorcycle parking

Free parking is available at the front of the property. Vehicles and their contents are left at your own risk.


Secure storage is available for bicycles.


Children of 11 and over are welcome at Clyde View, but will be charged at the normal room rate.


Please note that we are not currently able to accept pets.

No-smoking policy

Please be aware that smoking/vaping is not permitted anywhere in the house or garden. If you fail to comply, you will be asked to leave immediately, and we will charge a deep cleaning fee of £100 plus the cost of one night’s stay.

Damage and breakages

You are liable for any damage to the accommodation or contents caused by anyone in your party, including dogs. Although minor breakages are generally overlooked, we reserve the right to bill you for significant or costly damage or breakage, including any specialist cleaning required due to dog fouling, or for the removal of any item from the room. In this case we will send you an invoice by email or post, which must be paid within 30 days.

Please report any damage or breakage as soon as possible after it happens, so that we can arrange replacement or repair. Failure to report damage may incur an additional charge.

Dining room/Shared areas

We are following any COVID-19 guidelines set out by the UK and/or Scottish Government, including social distancing wherever possible. As we only ever have a maximum of 6 guests, this should not be an issue, but we would like to remind you to keep to these guidelines during your stay.

Please note that food is not permitted in bedrooms. However, you are welcome to make use of the dining room and facilities at any time during the day and evening and we will be happy to provide crockery and cutlery.

Books, games and puzzles are available for your use, but we ask that you store them away afterwards. If you would like to take a paperback away with you, please feel free to swap it or put a contribution in the charity box. (Please note that these facilities will not be available during your stay.)


We do not accept liability for any damage, loss, illness or injury to any member of your party, or any possessions or vehicles, unless it can be proven to be caused by our negligent act.

Extended stay

If you develop any COVID-19 symptoms during your stay and are obliged to self-isolate at the property because you are unable to return home, you will be liable for the full cost of your extended stay.

Termination policy

We reserve the right to terminate an individual’s stay, without notice, where deemed necessary due to unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others. No refund will be given.
